JASON McGILL is calling for the supporters to help the club through the next two seasons, and says there are no off-pitch problems (The Press, April 25).

So Jason must see the problem as being on the pitch, and the manager at a club likes to be ultimately responsible for everything on the pitch.

When Jackie McNamara was appointed the club were outside the relegation places, so the manager must take some of the blame for the position we find ourselves in.

You don’t survive in the lower divisions by playing neat skilful football. Players who play aggressive football win through.

Last week, Jason said our wage bill was in the top ten for this division. I presume this must have included all the backroom staff. This is an area that needs pruning.

Jason also needs to have a serious look at the managers he has appointed recently. We seem to go from one crisis to the next.

Other clubs survive on lower crowds than York and even get into promotion places, such as Accrington.

I won’t be renewing my season ticket next year and I was hoping my 50-plus years as a supporter of York City would come to an end (I won’t go to sit down at the new stadium) as a happy one, but I fear not.
