BOOTHAM 'A' could not make home advantage count as Acomb 'A' increased their lead at the top of the York Conservative Clubs' Carlsberg UK Snooker League.

Dan Potter finally ended Rob Barron's unbeaten run as his 30 break proved too much for the Bootham player to overcome.

Paul Holmes produced breaks of 39 and 23 to beat Jeff Brown and, when Keith Thornhill beat Justin Morris and Nick Marchant saw off Colin Robinson, Acomb were 4-0 in front.

Bootham's only success came from Barry Rankin as he got the better of Phil Carlton but Acomb captain Richard Lillie beat Stuart Martel and Mick Borg maintained his unbeaten run with breaks of 38 and 20 in victory over Tim Fillingham.

The inter-club clash at Fulford saw the 'A' team run out 5-2 victors.

Glen Mountain was in good form for the 'A' team as he rattled up a breaks of 40 and 30 to beat Jim Rollinson.

Tom Lewis (27 break) then beat Phil Cook, followed by Jamie Husband (27 break) defeating Joe Kimbling.

Sam Parkinson hit a 36 break as he beat Bob Smith to put the 'A' team 4-0 up.

The 'B' side managed to take the next two frames as J Bonwick had a comfortable victory over Pete Dunmore then Dean Smith had a black ball win over Alan Reed.

Sam England took the last three colours as he won on the black to secure the 5-2 scoreline.

Heworth 'A' beat a Malton side 5-2 that could only field five players.

They went ahead as Alan Shelley beat Nick Dyson but wins for Jordan Worobec over Sam Pawson and Mark Winskill against Phil Hart put Heworth 2-1 up.

Clive Whyte (32 break) lost to Dan Pawson but M Hudson beat Dominic Spiteri to give Heworth the win.

Three frames went to a black ball finish in the match between Acomb 'B' and Bootham 'B' - and the latter lost them all.

A Morgan led the way for Acomb with the first black ball win over Paul Mahoney and Nick Goodacre beat John Wortley to put Acomb 2-0 up.

Ian Robinson hit back for Bootham against Kevin Ventress but Brian Henry edged past Matt Smith and Steve Rodgers overcame Lionel Barnes on the final colour.

The last two frames were shared as Paul Powell beat Chris Nicholson and Andy Stone beat Andy Proud as Acomb won 5-2.
