TOP of the table Huntington Rovers maintained their fine start to the York Minster Engineering Premier League season with a comfortable 3-0 win at Brooklyn. James Edmond hit his ninth goal of the season in the victory, with Steve Jarman and Dave Hartas also on target for Rovers.

Wigginton Grasshoppers moved into second place with a bloodless 7-0 triumph over visitors Harrison Signs.

The game was goalless until the 33rd minute, when Matthew Tiplady put Hoppers in front, before Jamie Willstrop rattled in a quick-fire seven-minute hat-trick to make it 4-0.

Eddy Clapham added a fifth immediately before the break. Further goals for Willstrop and Tiplady completed the scoring in the second half.

Honours were even between Dunnington and Old Malton St Mary's. The game finished 1-1 with Martin Day scoring for the home side. Dunnington sit third in the table, while Malton are seventh with games in hand on their title rivals.

Fourth-placed York RI got the better of a five goal thriller with F1 Racing.

Chris Dempsey gave F1 an early lead but Anthony Evans scored two well-taken goals to put RI in front. It was 3-1 before Dempsey added a second for F1 five minutes from time - but it was too little too late.

Dringhouses made the most of their trip to Copmanthorpe, enjoying a 7-1 success. Sam Lake and Dave Watson grabbed two goals in the win With Jordan Outerbridge, Cameron Mulhearn and Sam Backhouse also finding the net.

Two goals from Ben Hodgson maintained Heslington’s per cent record in division one as they beat York St John 2-0.

A Kingsley Daffern goal, ten minutes from time, was enough to give Malton and Norton a 1-0 win over Hemingbrough United. Tockwith defeated Rawcliffe 3-0.

Strensall made it three from three with a 3-1 success over Hamilton Panthers to cement their position on top of division two.

Darren Brandon, John Cavanagh and Myron Turbine all struck for Stamford Bridge but were unable to prevent a 6-3 loss at the hands of Bishopthorpe United. Kirkbymoorside gained a 4-0 triumph over Fulford Unted.

In division three, Selby Olympia are making the early running after their 3-2 home win over South Milford. Also making it two from two were Moor Lane, whose Patryck Zimer gave them a two-goal cushion over Civil Service after a half-hour of play.

Civil Service responded and were level before the interval but a second half goal from Danny Rodgers was enough to clinch a Moor Lane win.

James Darlison bagged five goals for Cawood as they defeated Jorvik Blades 7-2. Davis and Pearson also made the Cawood score sheet with Shaun Curry bagging a brace for Blades.

Dan Witcombe (2) and Jamie Kirby struck for Rufforth United in their 3-0 triumph at home to Wilberfoss.

Division four teams Heworth Green and The Raj FC both boast 100 per cent league records after wins against Malt Shovel and Pollington.

Heworth dispatched Malt Shovel 4-1 to sit at the table’s summit while The Raj are hot on their heels after a hat-trick of free kicks, including one from 40 yards, from Callum Hannigan inspired them to a 4-3 victory.

Shane Bogg hit their fourth goal with Mark Baguley (2) and Rob Tate notching for the visitors. John Dale and Jamie Spaven struck for New York WMC as they ran out 2-0 winners at Huntington FC.
