HOT SPICE, a smooth winner at Thirsk last week, moves along the A1 today to bid for a quick double at Catterick as trainer Mick Easterby aims to strike while the iron is hot with his in-form stayer.

The Yvonne Mee Celebration Handicap is the target for the Sheriff Hutton gelding, who scooted home by two and a quarter lengths at Thirsk under a good ride from Graham Gibbons, who shot his mount clear off the home turn.

A 6lb penalty may not be enough to anchor Hot Spice, who won back-to-back races at Redcar and on this course last summer. He promises to be hard to beat and carries the nap vote.

DUTCH MIST may prove the solution to the BHEST Racing To School Nursery Handicap.

Kevin Ryan's juvenile won nicely at Thirsk last time out, taking a step forward from her debut performance. There is likely to be more to come from Dutch Mist, who will be partnered by Jamie Spencer as she takes on three rivals in a tight-looking race.

Ryan and Spencer can also win the Racing Again Next Wednesday 15th July Handicap with ALHELLA and complete a a first-and-last-race double.

The three-year-old, a Redcar winner on her penultimate outing, has since finished fourth at Carlisle. This looks a decent opportunity for her to get back on top.

Father Bertie can provide the in-form Tim Easterby with another winner in the Happy 85th Birthday Walter Houlden Handicap.

The three-year-old was presented with a good opportunity to win in maiden company at Wetherby recently and took advantage in nice style. He now switches to handicap company and, although set to carry top weight, is likely to prove hard to beat.

SIGNORINA ROSEINA is not to be overlooked in the racinguk.com Handicap.

A winner on this course last month, David O'Meara's filly has run two respectable races since at Thirsk and Leicester. Shelley Birkett claims a valuable 3lb off Signorina Roseina, who is well drawn in stall three in this seven furlong contest.

At Wolverhampton, Norton apprentice Joe Doyle aims to complete a hat-trick on ARTFUL PRINCE in the feature race on the card.

The £11,500 Combine Conferencing With Racing At Wolverhampton Handicap is the target of Artful Prince, trained by James Given, with whom Doyle has struck up a notable rapport.

The 3lb claimer won on this gelding at Ripon and has since scored on him at Newmarket, each time, dropping him out and bringing him with a long, steady run.

Artful Prince has since been raised 8lb in the weights, which sets him his toughest test to date, but he's a horse in form and ought not be dismissed lightly.

Tim Easterby, who saddles the useful Maven against Artful Prince, will also be represented by MOCKINGBIRD HILL in the Hotel And Packages Available Maiden Stakes.

Andrew Elliott's mount has shown enough in three efforts in maiden company to suggest a minor race can come his way.

Also worth noting are FIELD OF VISION (2.20), who is overdue a winning turn after rattling-up a sequence of placed efforts, and BARREN BROOK (5.20), trained by Mick Easterby, who gave notice that he could be ready to return to winning ways when a good third at Wetherby a couple of weeks ago.
