SESSAY'S march towards the Hunters York & District Senior Cricket League division one title shows little sign of slowing as they reached the season’s mid point still unbeaten.

Joseph Watson (92no) top scored for the division’s leading side, who have won nine of their 11 matches, as they posted 311-8 at Beverley Town II. There was also a fourth half century of the season for Nick Harrison (59).

Michael Cooke top scored for the home side but Liam Carver (4-30) and Stephen Langstaff (3-45) kept the match under control, dismissing the hosts for 167.

Bolton Percy remain in second place as they made it four straight wins when bringing an end to Bridlington's run of six matches without defeat.

Ed Noble top scored with 49 for the visitors as they lost eight wickets, three of them to Will Hall (3-31) while chasing down 143 for victory.

Driffield Town II enjoyed an early finish against Malton & Old Malton. Set just 90 for victory, they raced to the target in under 19 overs.

Johnny Anderson (4-19) took four wickets for the second match in a row and Jamie Greason took 3-20 as, despite 33 from Shaun Harland, Malton & Old Malton were dismissed cheaply.

Owen Goldsworthy top scored with 37 as Driffield won for the first time in four attempts.

Goole Town’s poor run, which has seen them drop from second to seventh, continued as they lost by 50 runs at home to Sewerby.

A second century from leading run-scorer Simon Webb (121) and 73 from Ashley Bell helped the visitors reach 243-6. Goole got to 193 thanks mainly to Ollie Ounsly (60) and Craig Mendis (37).

But, despite having not won in six, the promotion race remains so congested Goole could still end up in the top four.

An outstanding individual performance from David Greenlay helped seal a 157 run victory for Pickering at home to Osbaldwick. His spell of 5-2 from nine overs resulted in the away side being bowled out for 88, and that followed an innings of 85 as the Pikes made 245-8.

There was cause for celebration at Sewerby as the division’s bottom side won for the first time since the opening day when beating Folkton & Flixton by 17 runs. Lewis Beasley made 50 as, despite four wickets from Harry Walmsley (4-53), Sewerby reached 153. It was then the bowling of Adrian Long (5-52) and Robin Coates (3-19) that secured the points as Folkton & Flixton were dismissed for 136.
