JUBILEE ‘A’ moved into top spot in division two of the York John Smith’s Ladies Darts League with a superb 8-1 victory over former leaders Bootham Club.

Julie Oliver and Brenda Dawe starred for Jub, while Bootham’s Jane Barnes scored her side’s lone point.

Acomb moved into second place with a 6-3 win over Leeman, racing into a 4-0 lead with wins by Rose Gray, Lisa Benton, Kate Rankeillor, with the aid of a 68 checkout, and Libby Rankeillor.

Jackie Gray and Dawn Clarke responded for Leeman, and the visitors added a doubles win before Acomb scored through Kate Rankeillor and Sarah Rankeillor, then Gray and Laura Gatenby.

Burton WMC captain Linda Embleton tried in vain to inspire her team against Jubilee ‘B’, winning her singles and pairs with Sheila Harrison, but Tracey Scurr helped seal a 7-2 victory.

Liz Jackson, Vicky McLaren, Sharon Nelson, Doreen England and Kath Powell sealed victory for Saddle before Clifton got on the scoresheet through Dorothy Barker.

Alice Turgoose and Linda Turgoose doubled Clifton’s score, but Saddle won the remaining legs for a 7-2 triumph.

Tramways ‘A’ were unable to field a team against Fulfordgate in division one, allowing Tramways ‘B’ to go top with an 8-1 win at home to Castle Howard Ox ‘A’.

Tramways were well led by captain Tracey Farmeary, who had a 22-dart leg to beat Abbie Scott, despite the Ox player’s 138 and 100.

The leaders were denied a clean sweep by Ox’s Caz Johnson.

Ox ‘B’ captain Maggie Tottie closed on 74 as her side entered the pairs all-square with visitors Marcia ‘B’.

Wins for Kate Ford and Tottie, then Sandra Bruce and Tracy Watkinson secured match points.

Edinburgh raced into a 3-0 advantage at Severus ‘B’ thanks to Amanda Bevan, Donna Lynes and Sam Jamieson.

Sue Gillon and Sharon Mountain narrowed the gap, but Emma Frankland added to Edinburgh’s tally.

Mountain and Dot Sellars pulled another one back before Lynes and captain Chris Lamb sealed the win. Frankland and Jamieson made it 6-3.

Burnholme proved too strong for visitors Severus ‘A’, Marj Pearson sealed a 7-2 victory.

Sev’s only scorers were Carol Robson and Steph Barker and Davina Shannon.

There will be a captains’ meeting at Tramways WMC on April 7 at 8.30pm. All teams must send a representative.
