NEW Earswick All Blacks ARLC made it three wins on the bounce by beating Batley Boys 34-22 to remain second in Pennine League championship one.

The White Rose Avenue hosts took the lead after 12 minutes through Reece Blake, with Tom Holmes converting.

Batley levelled the scores with a converted try, but Dean Smith backed up a Liam Gargan break to score for New Earswick, with Holmes goaling.

The All Blacks stretched their lead when Ben Pulleyn crossed and Holmes added the extras.

Batley closed the gap just before half-time with an unconverted try and then the visitors forged ahead with two converted tries in the opening 20 minutes of the second half.

However, the home side refused to be beaten and player-coach Jack Stearman powered his way over for Holmes to convert.

Smith then crossed for his second try after collecting a Gargan kick and victory was secured with a brilliant individual try by Tommy Hields.

Holmes again added the extra two points.

The man of the match for the All Blacks was Carl Smith, and he was backed up well by Gargan and Adam Caddie.
