THE speedy Captain Future, a fluent winner at Wolverhampton 11 days ago, returns to the Dunstall Park course from his North Yorkshire base this evening with good prospects of following up.

Trained by Hambleton’s Bryan Smart, the sprinter made it third time lucky for the season when scoring by more than two lengths on his latest start.

There is almost certainly more to come from Captain Future, the mount of Adam Carter, who is well drawn in stall one in the 32Red.com Handicap.

Gabrial The Terror, winner of his last two races on this track, goes for a hat-trick for Richard Fahey in the 32Red Handicap.

The Malton gelding has really found a rich seam of form lately and has won off marks of 66 and 69. He is up a further 6lb here, but with his confidence on a high, he is entitled to give the in-form Tony Hamilton a good ride.

David O’Meara can also hit the winning trail at Wolverhampton. He saddles Scoreline in the opening Unibet Handicap over five furlongs.

Josh Doyle, who claims a valuable 7lb, takes the mount on nap selection Scoreline, who was a winner over this course on his first run of the year. He is only 2lb higher this evening and warrants respect, especially from a favourable low draw.

North Yorkshire apprentice Kevin Stott has struck up a good rapport with the two Godolphin stables in Newmarket and the 3lb claimer can notch another success in the famous blue colours aboard New Year’s Night in the Download The Coral App Handicap.

The four-year-old looks to be running into form and, on a course where he has won in the past, he is fancied to rediscover the winning thread for Stott, who is attached to the Hambleton yard of Kevin Ryan.

Also worth noting on the Tapeta circuit are the consistent Berrahri (7.15) and the promising Light Wave (8.15).

Over the sticks at Ayr, two horses who failed to complete the course on their last visits to this track, are fancied to prevail.

Teddy Tee, who goes for the 27 Festival Races Only On Racinguk Handicap Hurdle, was a faller at the final flight when in pursuit of the eventual winner One For Arthur last month.

He is selected to make amends this time under Brian Harding.

Back To Bracka was a faller at the penultimate fence on his last course appearance and was running a big race up until the point of his departure.

Lucinda Russell’s gelding, a winner at Wetherby in November, should not be overlooked in the Real Racing Fans Watch Racing UK Handicap Chase.

Scimon Templar may prove the answer to the Bet With Your Racing UK App Handicap Hurdle.

The seven-year-old, who has been in good form of late, and has course-winning form, represents Pauline Robson and smart claimer Graham Watters.

Ayr today: 2.00 Keys, 2.30 Angus Milan, 3.05 Plus Jamais, 3.40 Minella Fiveo, 4.10 Teddy Tee, 4.45 Back To Bracka, 5.20 Scimon Templar.
