CAMBRIDGE United will play host to York City tonight as Sky Bet League Two’s surprise second- highest marksmen.

The U’s have only been out-scored by Northampton in the division this season having plundered 48 goals compared to the Cobblers’ 53 but currently sit in 16th place just seven points above the relegation zone.

Cambridge have been without eight-goal leading marksman Kwesi Appiah, however, since Boxing Day after he returned to parent club Crystal Palace following Africa Cup of Nations duty with Ghana, who he played for in the penalty shoot-out final defeat to Ivory Coast.

Goals, though, have been spread through Richard Money’s team all season with 18 different play - ers having got on the scoresheet during 2014/15.

In Appiah’s absence, midfielder Ryan Donaldson is the next biggest goal threat, having netted seven times this term, including his first in a dozen outings during Saturday’s 2-0 triumph at Morecambe.

That result ended a nine-match run without a victory that started with the all-consuming 0-0 FA Cup home draw with Manchester United in January.

But Cambridge have still not won at home for five matches since a 4-0 thumping of Newport on January 17.

Since the Red Devils clash, Dagenham (1-1) and AFC Wimbledon (0-0) have both left Cambridgeshire with a point, while Wycombe took maximum points following a 1-0 win and Portsmouth ran riot during a 6-2 thrashing.

Money’s men have managed back-to-back clean sheets, though, following the Wimbledon and Morecambe matches and should have a full complement of players to select from for this evening’s encounter.

Ex-Manchester United midfielder Luke Chadwick, now 34, has recovered from the groin injury that has seen him sidelined for three weeks, while crocked trio Tom Elliott, Jordan Chiedozie and Rory Gaffney have all resumed training.

None of the players are expected to be rushed back with Money set to keep faith with the side that won at Morecambe.

Former Wycombe and Bristol Rovers forward Matt Harrold has started the last two games in place of Elliott after signing on loan from League One strugglers Crawley and is expected to con - tinue leading the line despite a record of just one goal from his last 27 outings.

Cambridge (probable): Dunn, Tait, Miller, Coulson, Taylor, Donaldson, Champion, Hughes, Mendez-Laing, Harrold, Slew.
