NORTH Yorkshire golfer Simon Dyson climbed the DP World Tour Championship leaderboard with a five under par third round in Dubai.

The 36-year-old fired a 67 to add to his first two rounds of 73 and 70 to move up to joint 22nd in the climax to the European Tour campaign at the Jumeriah Golf Estates complex.

Dyson picked up birdies at the seventh and eighth holes and, despite dropping a shot at the ninth, a run of four birdies in a row from the 12th hole propelled him to a 67.

Dyson, at six under par, is eight shots behind joint leaders Rafa Cabrera-Bello and Henrik Stenson, who are on 14 under par.
