SIMON DYSON’S double-bogey hoodoo returned to mar his opening round of the BMW Masters in China.
The York ace was performing circumspectly at the Lake Malaren course in Shanghai when his second bogey of the day at the 15th - he had earlier dropped a shot on the par-three 12th - was followed straight away by a six on the par-four 18th hole.
That deposited the world 109 with a three-over-par 75, eased by his lone birdie of the day on the fifth hole, and tied for 66th place, some ten shots behind first-round leader Alexander Levy of France.
There is no midway cut in this tournament, which has a prize fund of $7 million as has the Turkish Airlines Open in two weeks - the final competition before the European Tour closes with its Race To Dubai world championship at the end of next month.
