YORK Phoenix have completed a clean sweep of victories during the 2014 VX season after clinching the UK Club Championship title.
The all-conquering York team have won every game they have played in this year and, despite being without injured captain Carl Alsop, defeated runners-up Ripon Vanquish 386-166, Scottish champions Falkirk Cannons 311-212 and Easingwold HellDivers 382-101.
For Liam Leckenby, the triumph represented the second time he has swept the board to claim all of VX major honours in the same year, having also managed the feat with HellDivers.
Vanquish beat HellDivers 245-191 and Cannons 274-269 to take second place, while the Scottish side stormed to a 339-263 success against HellDivers in the tournament’s other match.
