BURTON WMC captain Linda Embleton gamed in 24 darts but finished on the losing side against Sun Inn in division three of the York John Smith's Ladies Darts League.

Embleton fired a 140 and a 100 in her rapid leg, while her mother Sandra Pallister hit a 133 and a 113 in a leg of 26 darts, but Sun triumphed 6-3 led by Linda Turgoose and Freda Harman.

Leeman beat visitors Saddle by the same margin. Janet Nelson, Margaret Yeomans, Margaret Schofield and Charlotte Witts enabled them to enter the pairs 4-2 up.

Nelson and Schofield combined to secure match points.

Leaders Castle Howard Ox 'A' had captain Nicki Johnson in top form as they beat visitors Shoulder 7-2, despite the best efforts of Ann Parkyn and Hannah Smith.

Division one leader City Supporters had a free week, and the chasing pack took full advantage.

Fulfordgate captain Michelle Brittno hit a maximum and closed out on 98, Muriel Britton fired two 140s and Anne Bass got a 140 in a 6-3 in over Burnholme.

Second-placed Tramways fell behind to Marcia 'A', Babs Harrison scoring for the visitors.

Carol Perrett added a point before Jan Wilberham, Jo Hodges, Kerry Goodall and captain Sue Lowery replied. Hodges combined with Judy Hall to secure game points.

Marcia 'B' had victory over Castle Howard Ox 'B' sewn up in the singles. Ann Cornthwaite clinched the match point before Wendy Shortle and Sandra Bruce gamed in 23 darts in the pairs.

Division two front-runners Bootham Conservative Club were level at 3-3 against visitors Green Tree.

Jackie Church and Kate Barnes edged the home side in front, but Sandra Flintfot and Jackie Young set a decider, which was won by Bootham's Jane Barnes and Julia Hagyard.

Second-placed Edinburgh beat Jubilee 6-3, with Donna Lynes firing a 58 checkout.

Acomb's final pairing of Lisa Benton and Laura Gatenby secured victory over Severus 'B', who had set up a decider with a win by Wendy Storr and Michelle Kelly.
