THERE has been a spate of car break-ins in east York.
Overnight between Tuesday and Wednesday, thieves broke into a black Nissan Micra in Granville Terrace, off Lawrence Street. They stole two Dell laptop computers worth £400 each, £200 cash and an iPod worth about £100.
The same night, a window was smashed in a red Hyundai in Leake Street, nearby. Nothing was taken.
At about 10pm on Wednesday, a white Toyota Auris taxi was broken into in Constantine Avenue in Tang Hall. A change machine and handbag were stolen.
Police say they have stepped up patrols and anyone with information is asked to phone 101.
