YORK will host a vigil to all victims of recent conflicts in Exhibition Square on Saturday from 4.30pm to 5pm.
The silent candlelit vigil has been organised by several local groups supporting refugees.
Esme Madill, one of the organisers, said: “This is an opportunity for York to join communities across the world in a silent and dignified vigil, remembering all those who have lost their lives in terror attacks or fleeing violence in their homelands.
"We do this while preparing to welcome to our city a small number of refugees who have been forced to leave their own country in fear for their lives.”
