A MAN has died following a collision between a motorbike and a car.
Police and fire crews were called to Toulston Lane at the junction with Rudgate, near Tadcaster Grammar School, around 5.20pm on Thursday.
The motorcyclist, a man in his 60s, suffered fatal injuries and was pronounced dead at the scene.
The incident involved a red Vauxhall Astra travelling along Rudgate and a Triumph motorcycle travelling along Toulston Lane with another motorbike.
Officers shut the road and advised drivers to avoid the area while an investigation was carried out.
The driver of the Vauxhall Astra, a 44-year-old woman from Barnsley, was arrested at the scene of the collision and has been released on police bail while enquiries continue.
Anyone who witnessed the collision or saw either of the vehicles before the incident, should contact police on 101.
