ROYAL Mail says it delivered a target-beating performance in the YO postcode area in the first quarter of the current financial year.

It says it delivered 94.2 per cent of First Class mail on time - the next working day after posting- against a target of 93.0 per cent.

Nationally, its latest Quality of Service report reveals that it delivered 93 per cent the next working day while it delivered 99 per cent of second class mail within three working days.

Rob Jenson, Operations Director, Royal Mail said: “Our postmen and women work extremely hard to deliver to some of the most demanding Quality of Service standards in the whole of Europe. We remain the only UK delivery company to publish our Quality of Service and we are proud to do so.
