TALENTED York musicians are busy rehearsing ahead of a dazzling charity gala to raise much-needed cash for two city charities.

Tickets are still available for the Lord Mayor of York’s Charity Gala Concert, taking place on Sunday at the Barbican.

The concert had been organised by York fundraiser Graham Bradbury and Lord Mayor Cllr Ian Gillies to raise vital cash for the two civic charities – York Against Cancer and the York Teaching Hospitals Trust Charity.

Cllr Gillies said: “I have been overwhelmed by the amount of support we have had from the musicians and performers in this city, and I look forward to a fantastic event.

“The more tickets we can sell, the more we can do for these two very worthwhile charities.”

Performers include a ukulele collective, singer/songwriters, York Civic Youth Choir, York Civic Orchestra, Sam Johnsons’ Big Band, and many buskers and entertainers from the streets of York.
