Two people in their eighties were given hospital checks after their car was involved in a two-vehicle crash near Kirk Hammerton.
Firefighters had to cut back the hedge so that paramedics could reach the couple in their car.
Both were given first-aid at the scene and were taken by ambulance to hospital.
Their injuries were not believed to be serious. The crash partially blocked the road.
