YORK'S The Voice star helped raise awareness of mental health problems at a special event in the city yesterday.
Beth McCarthy was at the "Fulfilling Potential" event staged by mental health charity Community Links at Clement's Hall.
The charity, which works with young people between the ages of 14 and 35 who have experienced a first psychotic episode, took fulfilling potential as its theme this year.
The event used music and performance to inspire service users, staff and the general public, and singing star Beth and performance poet Henry Raby were both there too.
Manager Tracey Walker said: "The event went really well, and it's great for our young people who are really interested in music to see someone like Beth, who is so inspirational and really passionate and believes in what she does."
The afternoon was compered by comedian and musician Rory Motion, and welcomed people from mental health services across Yorkshire, as well as members of the public from York.
